A Little Note

Seems like time just keeps flying by! It's quickly heading toward the end of April, and it won't be long till May and time to finish planting the garden. And our oldest's 5th birthday! It looks like these next 2 months (at the least) will be overflowing with activities. They're already mostly booked!

Just thought it was time to share a couple more pictures too. . .

Jaron hard at work doing his schoolwork. He's doing very well!

Li'l loveable Leanna. She's now able to sit unassissted on the floor for short times, and remains a VERY happy baby whose main interest in life right now is to get whatever she can into her mouth. She must be growing well--seems like nothing fits her anymore! ;-)

A big step for Eliott!!!

Yep, potty training!
We started last Saturday and he's doing remarkably well!

Remodeling continued

We did some more on the house on Saturday. All the windows are now trimmed, there is trim up by the ceiling in the living room, and the living room north wall is finished! (Well, all but the switch for the fan. . .) Here's a pic to show you how it's starting to shape up.

Photo shoot

Yesterday I got the imspiration to pull out the camera and get some pictures. Our little ones are growing up so fast, and it seems the camera has been having an excessive amount of rest these days due to just being so busy.

First off, the reason I decided to get the camera out! Just the day before we had gone to La Crosse, and on our way had seen someone on a skateboard. Jere expressed his opinion of skateboards in none too enthusiastic light, and I warned him his sons were different than he and just might pick up skateboarding. Lo and behold, Jaron (who had no way to know what we talked about!) pulled out the big wooden truck and was "skateboarding" across the floor! He had SO much fun--and we got a good laugh when Jere got home and we showed him the cute video I'd taken of the scene. Children are a joy!

"Leller man"
Still so much a baby and ever SO cute! But growing up fast enough. He's not a big talker, but what he does say is usually very clear and easy to understand.

Jaron
My big boy! As I was looking at this picture I was really struck with how much he's growing up. Won't be long till he's a man and putting in a long day's work at the job.

And "Nana"!
A sweeter, happier baby would be hard to find! Such a precious treasure she is. She's learning to enjoy being on the floor, and has really improved her grabbing skills. She also pushes with her feet to scoot around a bit. She usually joins me in bed at night (she sleeps in a co-sleeper attached to our bed), and the other day when I went to get her up from a nap she'd scooted clear across our bed and was contemplating the floor on the other side. Time to start napping in the crib with the sides up!! She'll only be 5 months old on Saturday, but she seems older than that to me!

Remodeling! More inbetween pics. . .

This is the kitchen. I didn't get any "before" pictures, but this is before any new paint went on, after the trim, etc, had been torn down. In the picture are my mom and dad, getting the drop cloth down in preparation for painting the ceiling.

We had lots of good help! Jaron loved the responsibility of poundin the nails and helping tear things down. He is working on the living room wall that got torn down to the studs.

Yea for new windows! Thsi windows is 1 1/2 times the size of the old one. It's wonderful!!!

Here's a picture of me putting the green paint on the wall behind the toy shelf. You can see a little of the green on the left in the corner. That color is now 30" high all around the living room, with wallpaper above, minus the north wall which was torn apart. More on that when it gets finished. . .

A view of the mess. :-) The little wall in the center that comes out into the counter used to be wood like the cabinets, and is now the cream color of the kitchen. It reall brightened things up! There is also now vinyl tile as a backsplash there too. More pics on that later. . .

Eliott being a big helper. His favorite toy is hammer, so when he got to use a REAL one he was thrilled! It kept him occupied for awhile!

Another shot of one of the new windows.

With everything so torn up still and all the changes I feel like I'm living in a different house!!! It's very exciting but also a very busy time and rather disruptive to our normal schedule. . . Oh well, it DOES look really, really nice and I'll be excited to share more pictures as we get more done and it actually gets finished!

Leanna's check-up

I took Leanna in to the clinic last week for a check-up. She seems to be doing well! A chubby 16 lbs, 6oz and 25 1/2 inches long. She checked out healthy and bright, the only issue noticed was some eczema on her head and back and a few chub creases that were irritated. What a sweet, happy baby she is! Since the visit she's come down with a cold, which she shared with brothers and Mommy, so we're dealing with runny noses and nasty sounding coughs. But her usual self is very happy, easily giggling, active and wanting to be in to everything (already!!!).  She does roll both ways and looks like she wants to start crawling, as well as sitting up briefly unsupported. What a precious little girlie we have!
